We're looking for a research assistant to help maintain FiveThirtyEight's database of public opinion polls between now and November 6. The job involves monitoring polling news and collecting and entering new polls into our polling database. We are looking for someone who shares our obsession with political campaigns and elections, has meticulous attention to detail, and would be excited to help us cover and forecast the 2018 race. FiveThirtyEight is hiring a research assistant to help maintain our database of public opinion polls through November 2018. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in political campaigns, elections and public opinion polling. Responsibilities include monitoring polling news and collecting and entering new polls into our polling database. The research assistant will work closely with FiveThirtyEight's political writers, editors and data visualization team, and might also have opportunities to contribute research, writing, graphics, statistical analysis or computer programming to our election coverage.
This is a temporary position. Hours are negotiable. While we prefer candidates who can work with us at our newsroom in New York City, we're also open to remote applicants.
